As Christians our goal is to become “mature” in faith. This is a lifelong process. We will always have doubts and obstacles throughout our day. These experiences help with the ‘growth process.’We must depend on God’s power to work in all circumstances and learn to stand on His strength alone. This is what it means to stand on the promises of God; to trust only in Him and believe in His power. It is when we respond with obedience that we are able to receive His promise of His everlasting presence.
There are many places in the Bible where God made a promise and then kept that promise. He promised Abraham that He would make him a father of many nations, He promised Israel a land flowing with milk and honey, and He promises us a life eternal if we believe Jesus Christ is our Savior; that He died for our sins, and was raised up again to life with our Father in heaven.
If you study scriptures, you will find that He has given us many promises to remind us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Hang on to the knowledge that He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.
Are you “standing firm in your faith?” Remember if God promises something, He will follow through!
