We are a lump of clay without Him

Isaiah 64:8
Yet, O Lord, You are our Father.
We are the clay, You are the potter;
we are all the work of Your hand.

A potter takes a lump of clay, at first stiff and unyielding, and molds it. Warming it with his hands to loosen it into a mailable piece. He then easily creates something useful, and often beautiful.

When we are new Christians, we are like that stiff, unformed piece of clay. It is through God’s word, His guidance and His commandments we become stewards of His glory–His masterpieces.

Every time we turn to Him, He shapes us a little more. We read The Word and develop character and boundaries. We go to Him in prayer and find direction. We become a reflection of His work. We find our purpose and our beauty; it is His light within us that makes us shine.

Are you allowing God to change you into a beautiful, useful vessel, or are you resisting His hands?

Give me the willingness to allow You to mold me into the person You created me to be. Guide me to be a reflection of Your work within, so that all I meet may see Your glory.
In Jesus’ name,
