The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. Psalms 34:17,18

Life isn’t always easy. Some days, nothing seems to go our way. Challenges pile up, then we become stressed and unhappy. At these times it isn’t easy to praise God. Digging into The Word can comfort our troubled minds.

The Book of Psalms is the book I turn to in low times. David’s relationship with God is not only inspiring, but also comforting. His heart-felt words so often express my feelings better than my own.

In Psalms 34:4, David tells us how he searched for the Lord and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. It reassures me knowing God is always near and willing to soothe my fears.

Every trial is a chance to grow stronger, not only in character, but also in faith. Romans 8:28 tells us that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Therefore, no matter what is happening in our lives, blessings, or despair, we are called to Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! (Philippians 4:4)

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me remember that You are in control and You create good from whatever happens in my life. Let me rejoice in your presence and praise you always. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen
