Our Father in Heaven loves us more than we deserve. It breaks His heart when we stray from His path. He wants only for us to focus on Him and trust in His ways.
He loves us so much, that He sent His only Son, Jesus, down to earth. Thus, allowing Jesus to experience the human feelings of anguish and pain. To teach us about eternal life and show us the way to get it.
James 1:12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
As Christians our goal is to become “mature” in faith. This is a lifelong process. We will always have doubts and obstacles throughout our day. These experiences help with the ‘growth process.’We must depend on God’s power to work in all circumstances and learn to stand on His strength alone. This is what it means to stand on the promises of God; to trust only in Him and believe in His power. It is when we respond with obedience that we are able to receive His promise of His everlasting presence.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
What a comforting verse, assuring us that the gift of eternal life is free. John says that God ‟gave His one and only Son” and all we have to do is ‟believe in Him” and we will live eternally. In Acts we are told that if we believe ‟on the Lord Jesus Christ” we will be saved. (Acts 16:31a)
If you receive Jesus into your heart, believe He is your Savior, you will become a child of God and spend eternity in heaven with Him. We need no longer pay the price for our sins, because He ‟gave Himself for our sins.” (Galatians 1:4a) and paid the full price with His death on the cross.
Have you excepted the ‟free gift” of eternal life God is offering you? If you haven’t, now is a great time to accept Jesus as your Savior and ask Him into your heart. Start out this new year with a new life in Christ. It’s easy to do; pray the following words and know He hears you and welcomes you as one of His own.
Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I’m sorry for my sins and sincerely regret my actions. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to cleanse me from my sins. I accept Him as my Lord and Savior and invite Him into my heart and into my life. This I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen
