Isaiah 61:10 I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Praising the Lord with song brightens my day and brings me closer to His presence. As the verse says, “my soul rejoices in my God” and I need to express that joy. I don’t always remember the words to the hymn I’m singing, but it doesn’t matter to God. He knows my heart.
He wants you too to find delight in Him, to rejoice in your soul for Him. I pray that you discover my “secret” to living joyfully.
But I will sing of Your power;
Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning;
For You have been my defense
And refuge in the day of my trouble.
To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises;
For God is my defense,
My God of mercy.
The last week has been rough in my household. No one of my family has felt well. From a bad reaction from getting teeth pulled, to my sinuses bothering me, I could easily forgo praising God. However it is in times like this that I feel the need to praise Him even more.
God wants us to live a joyful life. A life in which you want to sing and praise Him everyday.
Although, joy so intense you think your heart will burst can only last for a short time, the memory gives you a rush of happiness you can relive many times throughout the day.
In this slide show, I tell you about one technique I use to open my heart to that awesome joy God can give us.
Do you have a way you connect to God’s joy? If so, please tell me about it. I like trying new ways to strengthen my relationship with God.
If you don’t have a special technique, why not try mine? Remember, it may take several times before you feel anything. If you want to open your heart to His gift of joy, you might need to do this for a few nights.
Let me know how it works for you. You can leave a comment below or send me an email. I want to know if it works for others as well as it works for me.
